We found the Old Glory Ranch by a recommendation from our Church Pastor and from the moment we entered the gates of the ranch, everything felt right. Karen met us at the door and took us on a tour of the venue and took the time to discuss their small wedding package to us. We wanted a small intimate wedding with limited people due to Covid-19. They had a plan in place which worked well for us. Karen walked us through everything they could provide and gave us names of vendors who they work with. This was a huge help since we live about 3 hours away. We met with Karen about 1 ½ months out from our wedding and went through every detail of how the day would go. On the day of rehearsal, Karen worked with our Pastor and his wife (the organist) to make sure they were comfortable and ready for our big day. The day of the wedding, Karen and her staff were on hand to make sure every detail was handled and the wedding was perfect and came off without any issues. The venue is beyond beautiful and the back patio area was perfect for an outdoor reception. The weather cooperated and we could not ask for a better day to have a wedding. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with a rustic décor, this is the place for you. The chapel is elegant and large enough for a crowd or small enough for a small intimate group. We will always remember this special place tucked away in the Hill Country around Wimberley.

Old Glory is hands down the BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!!!! From day one, my now husband and I were greeted with so much kindness, knowledge, and care during our tour. Throughout the planning process, Karen made sure we always had our questions answered, and we could feel that the staff at OGR truly and whole heartedly cared about us and our wedding day. She went above and beyond to provide suggestions, communication with vendors, and reassurance through the pandemic. Even on wedding day she helped calm me down by talking me through every step up until I took that first step down the aisle! Suzanne literally made my floral dreams come true! My ideas were a little different, yet she knew exactly what I was going for and executed it PERFECTLY. We even dipped into the river after our ceremony and got some pretty amazing photographs! Everyone at OGR was so wonderful, Karen Smith was the wedding/site coordinator. She was simply amazing and a life saver, not to mention just nice to work with. Suzanne McCord is the owner and also great and very supportive, and only wants the perfect wedding for you. Suzanne did all our flowers and many of our guests commented on how beautiful they were and that it was the prettiest wedding they had ever been to. Carey Millington was our ‘day of’ coordinator and equally wonderful to work with and helped tremendously. The entire Old Glory Ranch staff was nice and a well-oiled machine, executing the entire day perfectly. Many guests also commented on the amazing service. And, at the end of our wonderful day, the staff packed up our cars and once the wedding was over, we just had to get in our cars and leave. We have seen and helped at other weddings when the parents, friends, and family pack and clean up for hours or days and we didn’t have to do anything – SO nice! We also had the horse-drawn carriage and miniature donkeys, both of which were a big hit! The entire experience was more than we could ever ask for and if we had to do it all over again, we would do everything exactly the same (without a pandemic hopefully!) Would DEFINITELY recommend Old Glory Ranch for anyone considering a wedding or event!!

This place is incredible. We had a Catholic ceremony at the church in town, so we just did our reception at the ranch, but the transition was seamless and I have no doubt that doing the ceremony there too would have been just as beautiful. Also, I had to do our wedding planning from California (though I’ll admit I had PLENTY of help), but when Old Glory says they’ll take care of the details, they mean it. I did not worry about a single thing for the entire weekend. Every staff member was kind, competent, and fun to be around; the music, flowers, and decor were perfect; the flow of the evening was flawless; and the tips, connections, and advice they gave in choosing vendors made sure that we had everything we wanted while still being conscious of our budget. Plus, our guests are still telling us all the different things they enjoyed about the ranch over a month later. We had a truly perfect wedding, and I can’t recommend OGR highly enough.

Our daughter got married there April 14, 2018. It was BEAUTIFUL and so well organized. They handled all last minute details with vendors. If you want to DIY [I did] the pavilion is the perfect venue, you barely need anything as far as decorations. Old Glory goes above and beyond expectations. Even with going through me [a busy grad student who lives 4 hours away, with a tight budget, and only 3 months to plan the wedding] they managed to stay so professional and attentive to every question and need. Old Glory is a must see, must book venue if you want an outdoor or hill country wedding. I could not have found a more perfect venue for my daughter’s wedding. Not only is it gorgeous, but Suzanne and my onsite coordinator, Karen Smith, were so accommodating to all of our special needs. We had our first venue have to cancel about 3 months before the wedding, and Suzanne graciously made Old Glory work for us, even with our limited budget. Old Glory made EVERYTHING my daughter had imagined come true! We did DIY at the Pavillion, and I was nervous about pulling it off, but Karen was so helpful it seemed easy. Even with my being in Houston and my daughter being away at Dental School, Karen kept tabs on us and made sure we had a plan for every necessary detail (many we didn’t think of ourselves!). Then when the day came, their staff could not be more professional! They were behind the scenes making up for any ‘mistakes’ we made, so her day was perfect. I could not be more grateful. The pictures are gorgeous – the landscape and venue buildings are so easy for photographers to work with! And you must get the donkeys – huge hit with the guests and the photographers . We had definite ideas for centre pieces for the tables, which Suzanne hadn’t done before, but she surpassed herself. They were beautiful, as were all the flowers. The venue is unique, and the packages they offer remove some of the stress of organizing a wedding, from flowers to their eclectic choice of accessories. I am finally getting around to writing this letter to you girls! I have been swamped ….but also I think it’s because I knew this would be hard to write. (I just don’t want it to be over! You rang the bell and she stood in the doorway with sunset behind her  (just like April said!) and it was perfect!!!

All of your hard work and attention to detail was amazing! The flowers were BEAUTIFUL!! The vendors you suggested were great! Thank you for the attention you gave to the family and wedding party! LOVED having those few minutes in front of the chapel after the service with beverages! That time to be together as a family before the party started was perfect!

“Carey, Gina and Suzanne, The wedding was fabulous! The bouquets were stunning! The bridesmaid’s bouquets were so beautiful with the berries, succulents, roses and just the right amount of wheat. Elizabeth loved her gorgeous bridal bouquet. I did not even have time to see the flowers before the wedding began because I was hangin’ in the bridal room watching her get dressed. But when the wedding was over and again when I came to pick up the flag I cruised by them and they were all beautiful. In fact, I think the bouquets were the prettiest I have ever seen and mind you I have been to dozens of weddings, looked through many a wedding magazine and searched the Internet. They were stunning beyond description and they blended with the bright green dresses just fine. The size, the colors, the flowers and the arranging were magnificent. Even the way the antique lace hung was perfect. I must say the succulents were a distinctive Texas addition and we loved the dusty greens. They should really be in a magazine because they are unique and tasteful. We ended up loving the bright green in the pictures and the girls appreciated the short and strapless  .nice and cool and comfy they said.

This was really the first time I actually saw some of the outdoor flowers and thank you Suzanne and staff for sending the pictures today. The succulents were so classy! The avocado bar looked like so much fun. The entire evening seemed like it lasted 45 minutes wish I could go back in time and go as a guest. All of the arrangements were gorgeous! All of the details came together for one beautiful evening. FYI, the cake was by Classic Cakes by Lori and it was delicious. Again thank you, thank you.

The band worked out fine and the bridal party seemed to enjoy the music and had a blast dancing. There was such an excitement in the air starting with the first party Thursday night and it just kept getting better and better. There were four things I insisted on – the carriage, the donkey’s, Oh Happy Day exit song and the avocado bar. Although I did not have time to eat an avocado they sure did look good  .the carriage ride, the donkey’s were the best!

Although it was warm, a great breeze arrived as the guests left the chapel perfect timing. It was the brightest moon in 4 years on 5-5-2012 and the rain held off until the bride and groom arrived in their honeymoon house which was all glass and they watched God’s magnificent lightning show.

Everyone raved about the whole evening. I have some great pics I will send you but I still have not unpacked! We are grateful for each one of you and may the Lord continue to bless you and your loved ones this year.”

I wanted a venue that was half way between Austin and San Antonio and looked at dozens of wedding venues along the IH 35 corridor. On the day of my wedding, everything was perfect! The flowers were gorgeous and everything I asked for was taken care of. “When my son called to say “she said yes” we were so excited we could hardly contain ourselves. Then when he said they wanted to be married in Texas, I held my breath! As the mother of two boys I didn’t think I would be planning a wedding, but with the bride and groom and her parents living out of state I was asked to help! So, with a list of venues, a friend and I started the visits. It was an easy choice! Hands down, there was nothing that compared to Old Glory Ranch! EXCELLENCE from the moment we drove through the gate to the night we drove away after the wedding. The venue is perfection. The decor, the buildings, and the grounds are maintained with great perfection. The list of suggested vendors and their recommendations were superb. Carey helped us find an incredible band that people are still talking about, pointed me in the right direction for a vendor that helped us choose invitations with the OGR flavor and people raved about the food and the way it was displayed and served by a caterer they highly recommended. At the last minute we decided to use a videographer, and Gina made that happen! We were made to feel like royalty on the day of the wedding. Every detail was taken care! They use headsets to make sure everyone knows what is going on and it makes for a perfect wedding! On cue, the violinist stopped, the bells rang and the bride entered. I tear up thinking about it even now. When I say everything is taken care of for you, I mean EVERYTHING! Carey even made a plate of food for me when she noticed I had not had a chance to eat ( too busy visiting). When the evening was over we were handed the keys to our car and everything we had brought there, along with the left over cake, a plate of food for my husband and I, and the left over alcohol was packed in there for us. My son and his bride left in their limo; Carey had made sure their luggage had been placed in the trunk, and plates of food and a bottle of champagne were inside for them to enjoy when they got to the hotel. That’s EXCELLENCE! I could say so much more but I think you would get tired of reading the word excellence! I am forever grateful to Carey, Gina, Karen, and Suzanne. They were always there for us; answering phone calls and numerous emails, giving great advice, suggestions and in general calming me down in moments of panic or confusion. They made a dream come true for my son and his bride!”

Suzanne, I had no idea your place would be so beautiful especially at night at the patio with the lights, oak trees, flowers and open fields. It was beyond my expectations. Even though we had been planning this for months, I never had a feel of how it would look in the end. Gorgeous.

I don’t want to do this again, but I wish I could go back to that night and relive it and enjoy the moment more. I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start talking to my guests! Strange feeling. Katie was beautiful and her ceremony was so special, unique and meaningful. She planned 100% of it and did such a great job. The wedding deck was the most perfect setting. It took your breath away–even with drought conditions Many of my guests complemented your staff. They were always there, so many of them and very helpful. Once again, I had no expectation of such fine service. Best money spent: the carriage!!! That was worth every penny to see bride and groom show up at cocktail hour.

Katie said Carey was wonderful and very attentive. And Gina was great at holding my hand through this process. I have no idea if our tip was too little or standard since I didn’t know how to judge these things. Old Glory Ranch is by far one of the best wedding venues in the Texas Hill Country and one of my favorites to shoot at.  Everything there is just plain gorgeous!  The massive chapel and hall are unlike any other venue I’ve seen.  The space is huge but it also has a very warm and inviting feel.  It’s not just the size either, the details are just as good!  Little things like gorgeous, worn steel doors matched beautiful wood doors.  All the groovy light light fixtures, the window details, all the way to the tables.  It sounds silly but everything is as it should be.  I can walk into countless venues (great venues!) and you can almost always pick out something that needs to be fixed, that is a little tattered or is just off somehow but not at Old Glory.  It’s beautiful from a distance and up close!  It really is a photographer’s dream to be able to shoot there.

A pretty building with equally amazing grounds is only half the story.  What really makes me want to come back again and again is the staff.  They are top flight.  I have shoot literally hundreds of weddings and the people you surround yourself with on your wedding day is so important.  You don’t want just good, competent people; you want awesome!  You want people that are really, really good at what they do AND you want them to be really, really nice and caring while they are doing it.  This what sets Old Glory apart from so many other venues out there; their incredible team.  I can’t wait to go back soon!
